K11 Chalet is a multi-functional event space, perched on OMA’s sculptural architecture massing, at the rooftop of K11 ECOAST. Sat at the pinnacle of K11 NORTH, the Chalet is in visual dialogue, and acts as a quiet counterpart, to Sou Fujimoto’s installation for the rooftop of K11 SOUTH. This location boasts the best unobstructed views of the entire K11 ECOAST site and the wider district.

Conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the Torii gate. Framed by a choreographed sequence of inclined timber and metal portals, the architecture treats each structural outline as a still of time, as if capturing individual frames from a film of the occasions held within. This idea of “framing the moment” anchors the Chalet as a setting for weddings, gatherings and celebrations; where guests are invited to pause and treasure every second shared with loved ones.

Together with the rooftop landscape, the pavilion’s sweeping geometry traces a yin–yang motif in plan; its solid volume and reflective water garden pairing mass and void in a single, continuous gesture. By day, sunlight pours through the layered frames to cast shifting bands of light and shadow across the chapel-like interior, creating a serene yet cinematic atmosphere that evolves from hour to hour. At night, the structure becomes a luminous “gem in the sky”: the linear façade and roof elements glow in a gentle rhythm, transforming the Chalet into a jewel-like lantern that crowns the K11 ECOAST skyline and announces the presence of the celebrations within.
